Theft: Someone swiped a red Specialized bike from a yard in the 8700 block of Southeast 44th Place.
Trespass and arrest: Police arrested a subject on a warrant after they were trespassed from a residence in the 2700 block of 77th Avenue Southeast.
Fraud: A pastor at a church in the 4500 block of Island Crest Way reported that seven church members stated they were getting text messages from a number claiming to be the reporting party. The texts said the reporting party needed to speak with them urgently and then requested $200 in gift cards. There was no financial loss or suspect information at the time of the report.
Aug. 13
Fraud: A resident in the 2400 block of 76th Avenue Southeast reported that their mother mailed $6,000 in cash to an address in Florida after receiving a call from a subject who claimed to be with the Chase fraud department.
Fraud: A resident in the 3400 block of West Mercer Way reported that a subject opened a Discover bank account in the resident’s name and spent $10,800. Chase Bank notified the resident that the fraudster attempted to change the resident’s address for Social Security payments. The resident reported the fraudulent activity to Discover and said he does not receive Social Security payments. There was no financial loss or suspect information at the time of the report.

DUI: Police located a hit-and-run suspect in the 8400 block of East Mercer Way and arrested the suspect for driving under the influence.
Aug. 17
Vehicle prowl: Someone shattered a vehicle rear passenger window and stole a purse valued at approximately $120 in the 2000 block of 84th Avenue Southeast. Window repairs are estimated to be $400.
