June 12

Vehicle prowl: In the 3000 block of 80th Avenue Southeast, a subject who was witnessed holding tools and leaning into a vehicle’s engine compartment claimed to know the vehicle’s owner and then rapidly fled the scene.

Beach blanket warning: An officer issued a warning to some beach-goers who were consuming alcohol in the 7700 block of Southeast 58th Street.

June 9

Fraud: A resident in the 2400 block of 76th Avenue Southeast was nearly defrauded by a caller who claimed to be soliciting donated vehicles for Seattle Children’s hospital. The resident hung up the call and researched the correct phone number before sustaining any loss of private information or funds.

Fraud: A victim in the 8400 block of Southeast 78th Street discovered that someone drained her Visa pre-paid card at an off-Island retail store, likely through a card-skimming scam.

June 8

Burglary: A resident in the 9000 block of West Shorewood Drive reported that someone accessed their storage unit and swiped items.

Theft: A suspect and their associated vehicle were spotted on camera footage after the suspect stole a package from a front porch in the 2700 block of 70th Avenue Southeast.

Malicious mischief: Someone scratched incoherent words into a victim’s fence in the 6000 block of Southeast 32nd Street.
