This Week on Mercer Island

The “Images of Change” art show features photographs of civil rights heros, donated by the National Public Library, along with photos from the Mercer Island High School’s Multicultural Scholars trip to the Deep South last summer, on exhibit from 3 to 5 p.m. this Sunday, Nov. 16, at the Community Center at Mercerview. Wine and appetizers will be offered. The event is free, but a $25 donation is suggested. All proceeds go toward the Multicultural Scholars Program.

SR-520 and tolling

The 520 Tolling Committee will host an Open House on Mercer Island from 3 to 7 p.m., Monday, Nov. 17, at the Stroum Jewish Community Center. A formal presentation on possible tolling options across both 520 and I-90 will begin at 5 p.m. For more information, go to www.build520.org.

The annual Ten Thousand Villages sale is this weekend at the Mercer Island Presbyterian Church. The Mercer Island Preschool Association’s annual Toy Swap is from 9-11 a.m., Nov. 15, at Islander Middle School, 8225 S.E. 72nd St. Gently used baby equipment, clothing, books, toys are available. Cyber bullying

Electronic media has become increasingly popular among young people as a way to intimidate, harass and humiliate one another, experts say. Find out what you need to know about cyber bullying between 7 and 9 p.m. next Wednesday, Nov. 19, in the Islander Middle School library.
