Two straight for Mercer Island baseball

Mercer Island baseball won its second-straight game Wednesday, April 9, hammering Interlake 10-2 at Island Crest Park. Noah Hsue went 2-4, scoring a run while batting in two more. Chris Lawler earned the win, pitching six innings and striking out five. Mercer Island will take on Juanita at 7 p.m. Friday, April 11 at Lee Johnson Field.

Boys soccer beats Bellevue

Islander boys soccer shut out the Wolverines in a 2-0 victory Wednesday night at Bellevue High School. Benjamin Pirie scored in the 25th minute to put Mercer Island on the board, and Sean Bender scored in the 59th minute off an assist from Pirie. The Islanders will travel to Lake Washington High School to take on the Kangs at 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 14.

Boys LAX edges Joel Barlow in Connecticut

On the East Coast during spring break, Mercer Island boys lacrosse opened a three-game stretch in Connecticut with a 12-10 win over Joel Barlow High School Wednesday, April 9, keeping the Islanders undefeated on the season. Next, Mercer Island will take on Xavier High School Friday, April 11.
