Sept. 1
Property damage: In the 3800 block of East Mercer Way, eight recently-planted privacy trees along the sides of the property were destroyed/uprooted. There was $750 in damages; there was no suspect information and no surveillance cameras in the area.
Dog bite: A resident in the 2000 block of 84th Avenue Southeast sustained a dog bite while separating an aggressive dog from her pet.
Sept. 2
Burglary: A vacant home in the 7400 block of 92nd Place Southeast was possibly burglarized and there was $5,000 worth of damages to the back deck glass railing. The front-door lock box was found open with no key, no pry marks and was possibly unsecured. There were no signs of forced entry.
Sept. 3
Warrants: Police performed a traffic stop in the 3000 block of 81st Place Southeast that resulted in multiple warrant occupants. Two people were arrested and booked into the King County Jail in Seattle and the South Correctional Entity jail in Des Moines.
Firearms turned in: A resident turned in four unwanted firearms to the Mercer Island Police Department for destruction.
Sept. 4
Fraud: A resident in the 2500 block of 81st Avenue Southeast believes that she was a fraud victim when her door lock wouldn’t work after she paid a locksmith for emergency services. The reporting party needs to present a report for the property manager and for insurance purposes in this civil dispute case.
Sept. 7
Warrant: Bellevue police arrested a subject on a Mercer Island warrant and police booked the person into the South Correctional Entity jail in Des Moines.
