Vehicle stolen on Island recovered in Everett | Mercer Island police blotter

Jan. 20

Vehicle theft: Someone stole a vehicle on Wembley Lane over the last week and it was recovered in Everett on Jan. 21. No suspect information is available.

Warrant arrest: A subject was re-booked into the South Correctional Entity (SCORE) jail in Des Moines on a Mercer Island Police Department warrant for reckless driving and for third-degree driving while license suspended (DWLS). The DWLS misdemeanor charge can result in fines and a criminal record, according to the Washington State Attorneys website, which adds, “This charge is often due to unpaid tickets or a lapse in insurance coverage.”

Jan. 21

Theft: Officers arrested a subject for stealing various sodas, food items, a calendar and pens from from Walgreens in the 7700 block of Southeast 27th Street. After being cited at the Issaquah City Jail, the subject was released due to a medical condition.

Jan. 23

Warrant arrest: In the 7600 block of Sunset Way, an officer’s traffic stop led to a double warrant arrest on the driver and passenger for obstructing the officer, escape and controlled substance prohibited.

Theft: Officers cited a suspect for swiping a case of soda from Walgreens in the 7700 block of Southeast 27th Street.

Adult protective service: In the 8300 block of Avalon Drive, an adult protective service (APS) referral was issued for fraudulently used identity on a student loan application. The alleged victim was unaware of the incident and appeared of sound mind and able to care for herself. There was no suspect information available. On the same day in the 6700 block of 81st Avenue Southeast, another unauthorized student loan application was flagged by APS for possible fraud. There was no financial loss and no suspect information.

Jan. 26

Warrant arrest: King County Jail called the Mercer Island Police Department to confirm that a suspect was in custody on a Mercer Island warrant. After confirmation, the subject was re-booked into King County Jail for third-degree driving while license suspended.
