Women steal street sign, man found unresponsive in car | Mercer Island Police Blotter

A 20-year-old man was found passed out in his car in the middle of the road, at 5:43 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 27. After 20 minutes of trying to wake the individual, including banging, yelling and shaking the car, the Fire Department was called to the scene.

COLLISION: A 76-year-old woman  collided with a cement wall in the driveway of the Regency Terrace Condos in the 8000 block of S.E. 33 Place, while attempting to make a slow-speed U-turn. Her foot accidentally slid off the brakes. The car suffered serious damages and was towed away. The victim, however, claimed no injuries and declined aid.

FRAUD: A 64-year-old woman discovered that somebody had already registered with her identity in Mesa, Arizona when she applied for Medicare. The suspect may also have opened a credit account at the same bank, in her name.

FLOODING: A vehicle struck a fire hydrant on the northeast corner of S.E. 73rd Place and 78th Ave S.E. The main water connection at the bottom of the hydrant was dislodged and water flooded the area. Water ran through the yard of 7307 Mercer Terrace Drive and 7231 78th Ave S.E. A third house behind the two, with the address 7651 S.E. 72nd Place was also impacted. The exterior of the basement door was approximately 4.5 feet deep in water. The resident of the house later reported that the furnace and water heater had suffered considerable damage.

ARREST: A 57-year-old man was arrested Saturday at 6:22 p.m. after police responded to a disturbance at the McDonalds in the 2600 block of 78th  Ave. S.E. The subject was found to have an outstanding warrant and was taken into custody.

ARREST: A 26-year-old Arlington man was arrested for a DUI in the 5600 block on East Mercer Way. He was processed with a .115 BAC, cited on investigation and released. A Four Loko beverage and the suspect’s firearm were photographed as evidence in his vehicle.

THEFT: At 4:27 p.m. on Sunday, a witness reported seeing a suspect in a black Ford Explorer steal a roadway sign from East Mercer Way on the southbound side. The item stolen was a 20 m.p.h. speed limit sign. The car was occupied by three females, two of them blonde.

MEDICAL EMERGENCY: A 20-year-old man was found passed out in his car in the middle of the road, at 5:43 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 27. After 20 minutes of trying to wake the individual, including banging, yelling and shaking the car, the Fire Department was called to the scene. Worried that it may be a medical emergency, the decision was made to break the driver’s side, back window. The subject was treated by the Fire Department and released to a family member. Two jars containing marijuana were taken as evidence.
