John Poinier, Jr., age 90, died April 7, 2025, on Mercer Island, Washington.

He will be fondly remembered for his devotion to his family; his great sense of humor and colorful language; his wholehearted and lifelong passion for hockey, skiing, soccer, and golf that kept him active into his 80s and availed him of countless friendships; his pampering of every dog and cat that was lucky enough to become a part of the family; and his generous donation of time and talent to his alma maters, coaching and organizing various sports, and his colleagues in the insurance and investment industries.

John is survived by his wife of 62 years, his four daughters, and two grandchildren.

A celebration of life is planned for a later date.
