Sally Corleissen Jorgenson, 81 years of age, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2017.

Sally was born in Provo, Utah on February 9, 1936. She was the daughter of Alice and Harley Corleissen. Sally attended Provo High School and the University of Utah, leaving in 1955 to marry her high school sweet heart, Ralph Jorgenson and move to Nuremberg, Germany where Ralph was stationed in the army. They returned to Salt Lake City then moved to Mercer Island in 1962. Sally especially enjoyed their adventures in Germany as a newly married couple.

Sally was a resident of Mercer Island for 55 years. Sally was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who especially valued and enjoyed time with family and friends. She loved raising their children living near the high school and volunteering in the schools, as a Campfire Girls Leader, at Virginia Mason Hospital, active in the Ryther League and working at the polls during election time. She was an early member of the Congregational Church of Mercer Island. She also loved boating, traveling and was an active member of the Meydenbauer Yacht Club.

Sally is survived by her beloved husband, Ralph E. Jorgenson, of 61 years, her sister and best friend, Chris (Ralph) Durham, her three children Dana Jorgenson, Diane Comstock (Jerry) and Ralph C. Jorgenson (Dawn) and her six grandchildren Clyde Comstock, Jessica Comstock, Lane Oliver (Kevin), Brian Harmon (Audrey), Sophia Jorgenson and Annika Jorgenson and a number of loved nieces and nephews.

Sally will be remembered for her love of family and her friendly nature. Sally had a friend everywhere she went because she reached out, with her warm smile and welcoming way to all she met and always found the best in people.

A memorial service will be held on June 14, 2017 at noon at the Mercer Island Congregational Church followed by a celebration of her life at MBYC.

In lieu of flowers, your donations would be welcome at the Mercer Island Congregational Church or the Virginia Mason Foundation, PO Box 1930, Seattle, WA 98111.
