The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association recently named Mercer Island High School freshman Gordon Gibson one of its athletes of the week. Gibson notched the 113-pound 3A state wrestling championship on Feb. 19. The grappler sported a 35-3 overall record and is the first freshman in school history to win a state wrestling title.
