Islanders athletes capture all-league honors

Bevy of Mercer Island soccer/baseball players garner recognition.

A bevy of Mercer Island athletes captured all-league honors for their stellar play during the 2019 season.

On the baseball diamond, Mercer Island’s Liam Dammeier (pitcher), Teague Condor (third base) and Cole Miller (outfield) earned first-team, all 3A KingCo honors. Duke Brotherton (pitcher) and Will Mulflur (first base) nabbed second-team, all 3A KingCo honors. Mercer Island players Nathan Buchan (outfield), Max Tanzer (catcher) and Robert Dreyer (shortstop) collected honorable mention nods.

On the soccer field, three Mercer Island players captured first-team, all-league nominations. Adam Braman (goalie), Josh Chansky (defender) and Matthew Capone (midfielder) earned first-team, all 3A KingCo honors. Players capturing second-team, all-league included Luca Mtskhtadoze (forward) and Blake Robertson (goalie). Jaden Krauser, Josh Chang, Alex Quinlan and Dakota Promet collected honorable mentions.
