Islanders earn overtime win against Saints

Mercer Island girls hoops team captures first victory of the season.

The Mercer Island Islanders girls basketball team captured their first victory of the 2018-19 season courtesy of a 59-57 triumph against the Interlake Saints on Jan. 23.

Mercer Island junior Grace Shaddle scored a game-high 22 points in the win. Shaddle was 14-for-16 from the free-throw line. Islanders’ sophomore Annabelle Gersch had 11 points and six rebounds as well.
