Islanders take on rivals on the hardwood

The Mercer Island basketball teams split their games against the Bellevue Wolverines in a double-header on Jan. 15.

The Mercer Island girls fell 44-34 to the Wolverines in the first game of the night. In the boys’ game, the Islanders earned a 65-53 win over the Wolverines. Senior guard Nigel Seda scored a team-high 16 points for the Islanders and Adam Parker chipped in 14 points for the Islanders. The boys’ game, which was originally scheduled for Jan. 14, was rescheduled due to school closures.
