The Mercer Island girls tennis team picked up one of their last KingCo wins of the regular season this spring, beating Liberty on Wednesday afternoon 7-0.

The Mercer Island girls tennis team picked up one of their last KingCo wins of the regular season this spring, beating Liberty on Wednesday afternoon 7-0.

The Islanders will play two more matches in the regular season, hosting non-conference Kamiak Thursday, and Bellevue on Friday afternoon. Next week the team will begin the postseason campaign with the KingCo tournament.

Against Liberty, in the singles competition, Nora Tan beat Jenny Adams 6-0, 6-0, while Sophia Gage beat Kristy Brunsten 6-2, 6-0. Melanie Lee beat Hannah Ho 6-0, 6-0 and Carissa Ham beat Hayley Elkin 6-0, 6-0.

In the doubles competition, Gabby and Lydia Venditti beat Noelle Rauschendorfer and Stuti Sulgaonkar 6-0, 6-0, while Caroline Dillon and Ashley Larson beat Sadie Demme and Annie Trumball 6-1, 6-1. Julia Glick and Erin Crandall beat Kim Lee and Yen Lee 6-2, 6-4.
