Mercer Island High School will soon be accepting the 2009-2010 School Year Initial Sports Eligibility Packet for all fall sports.

Applications for participation in interscholastic athletics will be accepted beginning Monday, Aug. 3, through Wednesday, Aug. 12.

Students must submit their applications at least two weeks before the first day of practice in their respective sports. All sports except football begin practice on Aug. 24 (football begins Aug. 19). Because physical exams are required every two years as part of the application process, student athletes are advised not to wait until the last minute.

Any form handed in after the deadline may cause the student to miss the first day of practice.

All student athletes are required to complete all forms and submit them to MISD Administrator Ann Meisner directly in the Athletic Office, Room 204D, by the Aug. 12 deadline in order to participate.

The purchase of an ASB card ($50) and payment of the MISD sports fee of $175 are also required. The winter sports deadline is Nov. 2 and the spring sports deadline is Feb. 12.
