MIHS girls basketball off to 7-0 start

The Mercer Island High School girls basketball team upped its overall record to 7-0 with a 50-44 victory over Liberty High School (Renton) on Dec. 15. In the win over Liberty (7-2), MI’s Caitlin Monahan had 14 points, Elianna Weiss had 11 points and Anna Marsh had eight points.

MI stands second in the WIAA 3A state RPI rankings behind Mead High School as of Dec. 18.

In a Dec. 11 victory over Jackson High School, 74-48, Monahan and Weiss each amassed 21 points (Monahan added 14 rebounds) and Mylan Bui had 10 points.
