Basketball: Mercer Island girls lose during first round of state, play today at noon

The Mercer Island girls basketball team lost to Prairie 62-45, Wednesday at the Tacoma Dome. The Islanders will play Thursday at noon during the first round of the consolation bracket.

Mercer Island and Prairie were tied 21-21 at half time. Prairie out-paced the Islanders during the fourth quarter for the win.
