Turning back the clock to March 28, the Mercer Island High School (MIHS) drill team won the 1A/2A/3A state championship in the military category with a score of 271.6 at the Yakima Sun Dome. MIHS also took second in the 3A pom category, scoring a 259.3 and missing first by just 0.8 points; and third in the 2A/3A kick category, scoring a 251.3 and missing first by three points.
