Mercer Island Rotary Islanders of April

Mercer Island High School students Jeremy Chow and Celina Solomon have been honored as the Rotary Islanders of April.
Chow, the MIHS senior class president, is a captain of the varsity soccer team and varsity tennis team. He is also a section leader for the alto saxophones in the MIHS band. He has been a member of VOICE and SVP and a project leader in training for six years. He is part of Serving Youth on the Eastside (SYTE), the Lighthouse Christian Church youth group. He is also a participant in Relay for Life. This summer he will volunteer as a Mercer Island Parks and Recreation camp counselor. The son of Ron and Sandra Chow, he plans to attend Gonzaga University or Washington University in St. Louis, and enter the medical field.
Solomon, a varsity soccer captain, plays in the MIHS marching band. She is a Natural Helper and has participated in VOICE for three years. The daughter of Bob and Sue Solomon, she has played soccer with the Eastside FC ’93 Red team for eight years, and has played JCC Maccabi soccer for two years.
Both students are members of the National Honor Society and Senior Service Club. They are also Bridges leaders.
