Stealth Lacrosse Academy begins summer season | Sports brief

The Washington Stealth’s Lacrosse Academy will begin its summer season this June, offering three day summer camps to local lacrosse players.

The Stealth Lacrosse Academy began in the fall of 2010 as a way to teach local kids about box lacrosse, played by the Washington Stealth team. Most kids learn to play field lacrosse, but learning both styles can help players learn new skills.

The first camp will be offered June 26-28 and the second will run from August 27-29.

Lewis Ratcliff, Stealth player and the academy’s director, will teach, along with a team of coaches, to help players learn all aspects of the game. Players of all ages and skill levels are welcome. The camp costs $225.

The Academy will also host a summer league, beginning in July. The league will play games Tuesdays and Thursdays, starting July 5 at Arena Sports in Seattle. Players who are interested in participating can sign up as team or individually. The league costs $200 per player.
