Islander and physician Kimberly Allison is part of a new ‘Chicken Soup’ book about surviving breast cancer.

Allison, a cancer physician herself, is the author of a piece within the book that recounts her reconstructive surgery after her own cancer treatments.

The book’s title is “Hope and Healing for Your Breast Cancer Journey,” and it offers lessons on coping. A statement by Allison appears on the book’s cover.
