Jack and Geri Alhadeff, of Mercer Island, are pleased to announce the engagement of their son, Sam, to Adria Shelton, daughter of Steve and Katherine Shelton of Vancouver, Wash.

Sam Alhadeff is a 1994 graduate of Mercer Island High School and received a degree in construction management from the University of Washington. He is the CEO of The Alhadeff Group, a residential construction company.

Adria Shelton graduated from Washington State University with an advanced degree from the University of Florida and works at the Seattle office of Washington State University as a fundraiser.

The couple resides in Seattle. They plan to marry in February 2013 in Zihuantanejo, Mexico.
