Mount Si deals Islander soccer first KingCo loss

Mercer Island boys soccer suffered its first conference loss Monday, April 7, losing to Mount Si 1-0 at Mount Si High School. The Wildcats’ Connor Williams struck in the 30th minute, while goalie Bruce Corrie had the shutout for Mount Si. Mercer Island will take on Bellevue at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 9 at Bellevue High School.

Islander baseball beats Totems

Mercer Island baseball bounced back Monday with a 7-1 win over Sammamish at Island Crest Park. Michael Petrie went 2-2 for the Islanders, scoring two runs while batting in another, and Jake Stenberg was 2-4 with an RBI. Will Mansfield allowed one run in seven innings pitched, striking out six as the Islanders evened its KingCo record to 1-1 and its overall record to 3-3 on the season. The Islanders will take on Interlake at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 9 at Island Crest Park.
