Mercer Island girls soccer cruised to a 4-0 victory over Interlake Monday night at Islander Stadium, advancing the Islanders to the second-place game in the KingCo 3A tournament.
Namya Malik scored Mercer Island’s first two goals, striking in the 22nd and 45th minutes of the game. Second-half goals from Julia Meade and Stephanie Silke provided the added insurance.
The Islanders will face Lake Washington at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Lake Washington High School. The Kangs fell to KingCo champs Bellevue in penalty kicks Monday at BHS. The Islanders lost both of their games 1-0 to Lake Washington this season.
