New Cascade campaign: ‘We Need Water Because’

Cascade Water Alliance’s new campaign, “We Need Water Because,” aims to start a conversation with communities in the Pacific Northwest about why we need water and value it.

The campaign was unveiled by Bellevue Mayor Claudia Balducci as the city was preparing for a Fourth of July event.

At the events, individuals can use colorful chalk to write on a wall and share their thoughts with the community at large. Then, they can take their photo at the wall and share it on www.weneedwaterbecause.org and at #weneedwaterbecause.

Cascade Chair and Redmond Mayor John Marchione introduced the display just prior to Redmond Derby Days, urging attendees to share their thoughts – not just with their Redmond neighbors, but also with the entire Eastside and South King County.

The campaign will be at Kirkland’s Juanita Beach Park beginning July 31 and into the first week of August. After that, keep your eyes peeled, as it is coming to your neighborhood.

“Cascade’s service area has a growing economy, a booming population and great schools and parks to ensure a wonderful quality of life. But what makes all of this possible – all of our growth into the 21st century – is something so important and yet something we take for granted every day. Water,” according to a Cascade press release about the campaign.
