July 11
Theft: A pickup truck was stolen from a 65-year-old Island man at the 4200 block of 83rd Avenue S.E.
Collision: A 22-year-old Island woman was making a right turn out of the Farmers parking lot onto S.E. 29th Street and bumped against another parked, unoccupied car that she said was parking too close to the driveway so that its bumper was partly blocking the exit. She left a note but the vehicle left the scene by the time police arrived. They were unable to contact the registered owner.
July 12
Malicious mischief: A 54-year-old Island woman’s car window was smashed at the 7400 block of 81st Place S.E., causing $750 in damage. Nothing was reported missing.
July 13
Theft: A 67-year-old Island man reported that a bass guitar and electronic tuner were stolen from a church at the 8500 block of S.E. 40th Street.
July 14
Burglary: A 69-year-old woman at the 8000 block of S.E. 33rd Place said someone rummaged inside her unlocked vehicle, which was parked in a secure garage at the condo building. A small satchel of keys and a pair of earbuds were taken.
Theft: Someone stole a 55-year-old Island woman’s bike from her carport at the 7400 block of S.E. 24th Street.
Malicious mischief: A 56-year-old Island man said he confronted a group of juveniles on skateboards who were riding in the middle of the street in front of his apartment complex at the 3000 block of 80th Avenue S.E. The next day he found that his car had been keyed. The car was keyed again two weeks later.
Theft: A 24-year-old Island woman stated that a necklace that was in her dresser was missing when she returned home to the 8200 block of S.E. 30th Street after a camping trip. She stated that her dog sitter had access to the home and spent the night there. The necklace was valued at $549. The dog sitter said she didn’t have the necklace. There were no signs of forced entry and no other items were missing.
July 15
Forgery: A 52-year-old Bellevue woman at the MIYFS Thrift Shop reported that an employee discovered a counterfeit $100 bill while cash balancing. Police were able to trace the transaction to a specific customer using a video.
July 16
Prowling: A 54-year-old Island man said his unlocked vehicle was gone through overnight at the 3200 block of Shorewood Drive.
Informational report: At the 9500 block of S.E. 69th Street, a welfare check was turned into DOA under non-suspicious circumstances.
Fraud: A 60-year-old man at the 8100 block of S.E. 48th Street reported that his identity was used to open a fraudulent credit card and secure a cash loan.
Fraud: A 47-year-old Island man at the 7800 block of 89th Place S.E. reported that his name and Social Security Number were used in a fraudulent U.S. Federal income tax return.
Criminal impersonation: A 58-year-old man at the 3600 block of 72nd Avenue S.E. said his phone was taken and the identity information needed to access his Verizon account was stolen.
Warrant arrest: A 31-year-old Seattle woman was arrested at the 9600 block of S.E. 36th Street and rebooked into SCORE Jail on Mercer Island warrants for theft in the third degree and obstruction of a law enforcement officer.
July 17
Theft: A 15-year-old Island male said that his bike was stolen from the Park and Ride on North Mercer Way, for a loss of $737.
