Full closure of SR-520 this weekend

Islanders should prepare for heavy traffic along I-90 this weekend. Beginning at 11 p.m. tonight through noon on Sunday, Aug. 16, crews will close all lanes and ramps of SR-520 between 92nd Avenue Northeast to Montlake Boulevard. During the closure, crews will perform annual maintenance activities on the existing bridge and complete work throughout the corridor.

While both directions of SR-520 will be closed until noon on Aug. 16, the westbound transit lane between 84th Avenue Northeast and the Evergreen Point lid will be closed until 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 17. During this time, bus riders will need to catch the bus at 92nd Avenue Northeast.

Crews will use lights to illuminate the work area, while nearby residents may hear the sounds of trucks and generators.
