French students to visit Island

Seventeen French high school students and their three chaperones will arrive from Mercer Island’s sister city of Thonon-les-Bains, France on Oct. 23 to spend a week as guests of Mercer Island High School students and their families.

Mercer Island student hosts visited Thonon during this year’s February break and lived with students, who they will now host.

During their October visit, Thonon students will attend classes at MIHS, tour Seattle area favorite places and experience Mercer Island life with their host families.

Mercer Island community members are invited to join in welcoming our Thonon visitors at a City Hall Reception from 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 26.  Light refreshments will be served. To attend, please RSVP to ali.spietz@mercergov.org by Tuesday, Oct. 20.
