Covenant Shores celebrates Earth Day by going green

Residents at Covenant Shores Retirement Community were encouraged to wear green on Friday April 20 in honor of Earth Day.

Carla Johnson, a representative from Republic Services, gave a lecture on the benefits of recycling as residents enjoyed a snack of mud cups (chocolate pudding with crumbled Oreo cookies filled with gummy worms). The guest of honor was Leap (Mercer Island mascot). A gardening caddy filled with tools was raffled off.
