Doubles duo attains a coveted goal on the tennis court

The Mercer Island Islanders tennis doubles dynamic duo of Kevin Chen/Chris Elliott turned in a dominating performance at the 3A state tournament.

The Chen/Elliott combination, which went undefeated during the regular season this past fall, replicated their success at the state tourney. They went 4-0 at the tourney en route to winning the 3A doubles championship. Chen/Elliott defeated Garfield’s August Knox/Nick Bishop 2-0 (6-1, 6-4) in the championship match on May 25 at the Tri City Court Club in Kennewick.
