Northwest Water Polo Club’s 14U boys recently placed third in the gold bracket at the 2019 Junior Olympics in Irvine, California. The club’s 18U boys placed fifth in the gold bracket at the same tournament, which was hosted by USA Water Polo.

Both teams feature players and coaches from Mercer Island.

On the 14Us, Finn Friedland and Torger Peterson are from Mercer Island High, and Friedland is a USA Water Polo Futures National Team member. Coaches John Jacobson and Daniel Kavesh are Mercer Island High alumni.

The 18U squad is coached by Mercer Island High alumni Adam Jacobson and Teddy Trowbridge.
