Update: Sheen Kaul has been found. Per a social media post, he is now receiving assistance.

Family and community members are searching for a 26-year-old Mercer Island man who has been missing since 11:30 p.m. July 12.

Sheen Kaul, who is 5’11”, was last seen at his family’s Island home wearing a white Mercer Island High School Chess Club sweatshirt and dark pants, according to a social media post published by his sister, Shaarika Kaul. He might also be carrying a large black suitcase, she added.

According to Shaarika Kaul, her brother has severe mental health issues and will likely be scared and disoriented. Rather than approach him (she expressed a concern that it would cause further stress), she is encouraging anyone in the community who sees him to call the Mercer Island Police Department (MIPD) or 206-250-5142.

The Mercer Island Reporter has reached out to the MIPD for additional details and has not yet heard back. This post will be updated as soon as more information becomes available.
