MIHS boys water polo squad takes fourth at state

Mercer Island High School’s boys water polo team notched fourth place at the 3A state tournament from Nov. 9-11 at Curtis Aquatic Center.

The Islanders first beat Curtis, 10-8, lost to undefeated Bainbridge, 13-3, beat Stadium, 13-7, and lost to Kennedy Catholic, 10-9, to take fourth.

Senior Eoin Sjothun made the state all-tournament first team, junior Justin Topol made the second team and junior Enso Hebert-Santos was an honorable mention. In addition, Hebert-Santos and Topol received honorable mentions on the Puget Sound Water Polo League All-League Team.
