MIHS cross country shines at 3A KingCo championships

Mercer Island High School’s girls and boys cross country squads won the 3A KingCo team and individual titles on Oct. 25 at Lake Sammamish State Park. The boys repeated for the fifth year in a row and the girls made it a three-peat. Sophia Rodriquez (17:24.04) became a three-time consecutive champion and Matthew Lawrence (15:40.43) is the fifth Islander runner in a row to win the boys individual title.
