Elizabeth “Peachy” Baumgartner

Elizabeth “Peachy” Baumgartner passed away Dec. 10, 2025 at age 85. She and her husband of 53 years, Cy, lived on Mercer Island for 42 years before moving to Issaquah in 2020.

Peachy and Cy were avid campers. They traveled all over the NW as well as Canada and Montana, sleeping in the back of their 1983 Mercedes-Benz station wagon.

Peachy traveled to Mazatlan, MX every year starting in 1980 where she purchased a timeshare. She invited friends to join her who would purchase time as well. They would become a large familiar crowd who had marvelous times and great memories.

Peachy was famous for her Christmas decorations and multiple trees. Her “Christmas House” was featured in the Mercer Island Reporter in 1986.

Peachy was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 2012. She always remained positive and continued to be her usual inimitably convivial and congenial self despite her numerous falls, injuries, and surgeries.

Peachy was preceded in death by her husband, Cy. She is survived by her daughter Heidi (husband Bryn) and son Tom (wife Karen, son Ben, daughter Maddie).
