The Alzheimer’s Association will present its free Caregiver Summit from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on March 27 at the Mercer Island Community and Event Center.

The health fair-style event, which includes lunch and requires advance registration due to limited space, will focus on learning, connection and support designed especially for caregivers, according to the organization’s site. Attendees can explore resources from community organizations, attend informative sessions and connect one-on-one with experts in caregiving, health and aging.

“In Washington, there are 254,000 family caregivers. At this event, the exhibitors, community partners and speakers are all focused on resources specifically for caregivers of someone living with Alzheimer’s or another dementia,” said Janet Callahan, development manager, Alzheimer’s Association Washington Chapter.

Speakers and topics will include:

• Beyond “Wait and See”: Science-Backed Solutions for Cognitive Health from NewDays AI

• Wandering, Weapons, and Emergencies: Safety Essentials for Caregivers with the Mercer Island Police and Mercer Island Fire Departments

• Finding Small Wins on Hard Days

• Adjusting Together: Caregiving in the Early Stages
