March 10
Warrant arrest: The King County Sheriff’s Office booked a suspect into the South Correctional Entity (SCORE) jail in Des Moines on an outstanding Mercer Island Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear in court on an ignition interlock violation.
Fraud: A resident in the 9100 block of Southeast 57th Street reported that a vendor asked her to confirm a fraudulent online purchase. She declined the order and the vendor provided her with suspect information. There was no financial loss.
March 11
Firearm disposal: A resident in the 4000 block of East Mercer Way provided the Mercer Island Police Department (MIPD) with a firearm that belonged to her recently deceased brother. She wanted MIPD to dispose of the firearm.
March 12
DUI: A police officer arrested a subject for third-degree driving while license suspended (DWLS 3) and driving under the influence in the 7500 block of westbound Interstate 90. The DWLS 3 misdemeanor charge can result in fines and a criminal record, according to the Washington State Attorneys website, which adds, “This charge is often due to unpaid tickets or a lapse in insurance coverage.”

Theft: A subject stole Zyrtec from the CVS in the 3000 block of 78th Avenue Southeast. The case is still under investigation and there is no suspect information.
March 14
Warrant arrest: A subject was re-booked into SCORE with an active MIPD warrant for second-degree driving while license suspended. The gross misdemeanor charge can result in a maximum penalty of 364 days in jail and a $5,000 fine, comes with a one-year license suspension and counts as a strike for habitual traffic offender status, according to the Washington State Attorneys website.

Property found: In the 9700 block of Southeast 40th Street, a resident found a cell phone and a pistol magazine in the grass on the side of the road. Owner information is unknown.
