In a message to the Mercer Island community this afternoon, the Mercer Island School District noted that Islanders may have noticed police activity at Crest Learning Center today.

“We want to reassure our community that students were never in danger or in an unsafe situation and there was no threat to the schools,” reads the message, adding that the police presence was related to a non-school student matter; due to student privacy laws, the district is unable to share additional details. “We remain committed to maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.”
