March 16
Vehicle impounded: An abandoned vehicle was impounded after it was left on a public right of way in the 7800 block of Sunset Highway.
March 17
Theft: A subject was cited and released for third-degree theft for stealing Sprite, an energy drink and a Starbucks Frappuccino mocha from Walgreens in the 7700 block of Southeast 27th Street. Walgreens also trespassed the subject.
March 18
DUI: Police arrested a subject for suspicion of driving under the influence and released the driver after DUI processing at the police station. Police initially contacted the subject who was driving in the 7600 block of Sunset Highway and then parked in an apartment complex gravel lot.
Warrant arrest: A subject who was released from Lynnwood Jail was taken into custody for a Mercer Island Police Department (MIPD) third-degree theft warrant and transported/booked into Issaquah Jail.
March 21
Vehicle theft: In the 8300 block of 84th Avenue Southeast, police arrested a suspect for motor vehicle theft, trespassing and attempting to steal a boat. He was booked into King County Jail. The case remains under investigation.
March 23
Warrant arrest: A subject was re-booked into South Correctional Entity (SCORE) jail in Des Moines on a MIPD third-degree driving while license suspended/failure to appear in court warrant. The misdemeanor driving charge can result in fines and a criminal record, according to the Washington State Attorneys website, which adds, “This charge is often due to unpaid tickets or a lapse in insurance coverage.”
March 24
Warrant arrest: In the 7800 block of Southeast 28th Street, MIPD made a misdemeanor harassment warrant arrest for the Des Moines Police Department and the subject was booked into SCORE.
