During the last legislative session, State Sen. Lisa Wellman of the 41st Legislative District led the way in helping secure just over $1 million in funding for the Mercer Island Community and Events Center HVAC replacement project.

This funding increase — from an initial proposal of $309,000 and in partnership with the 41st delegation — occurred in the final combined House/Senate Capital Budget that Gov. Bob Ferguson recently signed.
