July 7
Property damage: Someone smashed a car window in a parking complex garage in the 2700 block of 78th Avenue Southeast. No items were stolen and there was no suspect information. There was $350 worth of damage reported.
July 8
Theft: Someone stole a package containing an estimated $350 worth of clothes from inside the Mercer apartments in the 2500 block of 76th Avenue Southeast. There was no suspect information.
Hit and run: In the 7600 block of Southeast 27th Street, an unknown witness provided the Tabit Village Square property manager photos of a white construction truck they believed struck and damaged the Tabit Village Square building brick wall. The reporting party approximates $12,000 in damages.
July 9
Found property: At a parking lot in the 2000 block of 84th Avenue Southeast, a Mercer Island parks staff member found an Audi key fob and a key attached to a key ring. An area check of the parking lot came up negative, and no owner called in to report the missing item.
July 12
DUI: A subject was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence in the 7600 block of North Mercer Way. After the officer stopped the subject for failure to obey and an expired vehicle registration, the subject refused field sobriety tests. After the subject agreed to take a breathalyzer test, the officer had probable cause to arrest the driver. After processing, the officer released the subject and the driver was transported home by ride share.
Theft: Two unknown female subjects stole approximately $600 worth of groceries from a business in the 2700 block of 77th Avenue Southeast.
July 13
Warrant arrest: Police arrested a Federal Way warrant subject at the scene of a traffic accident in the 9400 block of Southeast 47th Street. The subject — who had a warrant for domestic violence assault — was directly booked into the South Correctional Entity (SCORE) jail in Des Moines.
Warrant arrest: A Seattle Police Department officer located a Mercer Island warrant subject for third-degree driving while license suspended. The subject was directly booked into the SCORE jail.
