MI Pride celebration set for July 30/ City briefs

Mercer Island will host its annual Pride Night in the Park celebration from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on July 30 at Mercerdale Park during its Mostly Music in the Park event featuring ABBAgraphs.

“This joyful, family-friendly gathering will feature community vendors, fun activities, and a celebration of belonging,” the city said.

Mercer Island City Council proclaimed June as Pride Month on the Island at its June 2 regular meeting.

SEAFAIR WEEKEND

During Seafair weekend of July 31-Aug. 2, the Interstate 90 bridge will remain open during the U.S. Navy Blue Angels airshows.

Groveland Beach Park access will be limited to 500 people on a first-come, first-served basis. Proctor Landing access will be limited to accommodate first responders.

NATIONAL NIGHT OUT

On Aug. 4, the city will participate in National Night Out, an annual event aimed at strengthening police-community partnerships, raising safety awareness and building a connected neighborhood.
