Puget Sound Blood Center reports that they anticipate a shortage in blood this coming month. With two major mid-week holidays, they estimate that 15% less blood will be on hand to serve local hospitals.
PSBC says they need each and every blood drive scheduled to meet at least 95% of goal through January 5th. They ask everyone to bring a friend, a neighbor and family.
Set aside time to donate between 1:30 p.m. and 7 p.m., (closed 3:30-4:30) on Thursday, December 26 in the Pollack Room at the Stroum Jewish Community Center on Mercer Island.
Appointments can be made on line at www.psbc.org/programs/drive.asp?URL=2384. You can also sign up by calling 1-800-398-7888.
Photo ID is now required.
