Philip Alexander Hughes and Arianne Elizabeth Teasdale are proud to announce their engagement.

The future groom is the son of Henry and Peggy Hughes, of Mercer Island. A 2001 graduate of Mercer Island High School, he is a 2005 University of Washington graduate with majors in math and statistics. He is currently working as a life insurance actuary for Symetra at the corporate headquarters in Bellevue.

The future bride is the daughter of Douglas and Marci Knight, of Monroe, Wash. She is a graduate of Monroe High School and Pima Medical Institute. She is currently working as a CT technologist in radiology at Evergreen Hospital in Kirkland.

The couple met in June 2012 and will be celebrating their wedding in the Kirkland/Bellevue area in September 2013 along with friends and family. The couple has decided to honeymoon in Hawaii and plans to reside in the Kirkland area following their nuptials.
