MIHS grad rows with UV Cavaliers at Head of the Charles race

Susie Chalker, a 2007 Mercer Island High School graduate, currently rows for the women’s rowing team at the University of Virginia. As a member of the UV Cavaliers bucket rigged four, Chalker’s team finished first at the Head of the Charles race in Boston on Oct. 17. The Head of the Charles race, which just wrapped up its 45th year, is the premier rowing event in the world and attracts teams from across the globe for the 5K race. The UV bucket-rigged four team finished in the top spot out of a field of 54 competitors.
