An evening of wine-tasting, art, music and food is set for Friday evening, Sept. 12, at Mercer Island Outdoor Sculpture Gallery, located at Sunset Highway and 78th Ave S.E.

Ten local wineries will offer tastings. Juried artists from both Mercer Island and the Seattle area will have a selection of fine handmade artwork.

Several local food trucks will offer interesting fare and live music will add to the ambience. Wines poured will be available for purchase at a 10 percent discount. Wine tasting tickets are $30 per person. Visit https://mercerislandartuncorked.eventbrite.com to purchase tickets.

A portion of the proceeds from this evening benefit the scholarship programs of the Mercer Island Chamber of Commerce and Mercer Island Visual Arts League.

Irish dance classes to be offered

Irish dance classes are opening today on Mercer Island. The Comerford School of Irish Dance will be offering beginner classes at Mercerart Dance beginning Sept. 10.

Thonon les Bains exhibit at Chamber gallery

Islanders and friends are invited to drop by the Mercer Island Chamber of Commerce Art Gallery for a look at the Mercer Island’s Sister City of Thonon-les-Bains, France art exhibit.

The gallery is open Monday through Friday, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Chamber office, 7605 SE 27th St.  #109.

A new show is open at the Mercer Island Visual Arts Gallery at 2836 78th Avenue S.E. The theme for the latest exhibit is “Elsewhere’.
