Mercer Island falls to Liberty | Prep baseball results

Facing off against Liberty on Wednesday, April 11, the Islanders lost a KingCo battle 5-4.

The teams were tied 2-2 after the first inning, and Liberty went on to add three runs in the bottom of the second to take a 5-2 lead. The Islanders answered in the top of the third with two runs, but despite their best efforts, the team remained scoreless through the next four innings.

Liberty had five runs on five hits and no errors during the game. Mercer Island had eight hits for four runs and three errors.

Alex Himstead was 2-3 at bat during the game with 2 RBI, while Matt Oreheck was 2-4 at bat with one RBI. Isak Morris pitched for one inning, taking the loss, allowing two hits, three runs and two errors.

The Islanders will take Thursday off before traveling to play Bellevue on Friday, April 13 at 4:30 p.m.
