Richard W. Mellon

Richard W. Mellon, of Gibsonia, PA (formerly of Mercer Island, WA) passed away on 8 May 2014, at the age of 90. He was born 20 May 1923 in Ambridge, PA.

Richard leaves his wife Roberta of 59 years of marriage. Richard’s only son, James P. Mellon, preceded him in death in 2008 from a sudden heart attack; deeply loved uncle of Patricia (Peter) Zajac and Tim (Jayne) Mellon.

Richard received a BS Degree in Finance and Accounting in 1946 from Virginia Tech; he later completed his graduate work in California.

He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran and served over four years in Europe.

Richard worked some 30 years for the Lockheed Corporation (now Lockheed Martin) in finance, primarily in the Mid-East. He was accompanied by his wife Roberta during the time of all of his foreign assignments.
