Jan. 8

MISSING PERSON: At 7:12 a.m., a woman in the 9000 block of E. Shorewood Drive reported that her mentally ill, possibly suicidal son was missing.

FOUND PROPERTY: A bicycle was left in front of a residence in the 4600 block of 90th Ave. SE for several days.

DEATH INVESTIGATION: A 91-year-old male with a history of heart issues passed away in the 9700 block of SE 41st St. at 10:44 a.m.

THEFT: A man in the 7200 block of 94th Ave. SE reported a theft at 7:13 p.m. He said that he or his auto broker had their computers hacked, as $35,000 and $24,622.05 were wire transferred to fraudulent accounts, and he did not receive his Mercedes Benz from the broker.

Jan. 10

DUI: A subject was arrested for DUI in the 4600 block of Island Crest Way at 11:34 p.m., providing breath samples of .116 and .122.

THEFT: A man in the 4300 block of 86th Ave. SE said at 8:53 a.m. that a package containing sunglasses was stolen from his mailbox.

Jan. 11

THEFT: A victim in the 4600 block of 88th Ave. SE reported at 12:04 p.m. that they believe an ex-employee stole products.

MORE THEFT: A subject’s wallet was stolen at a swim meet at 8:15 p.m. in the 8800 block of SE 40th St.

Jan. 12

SUBSTANCE VIOLATION: Police contacted a subject on a welfare check at 12:07 p.m. in the 7700 block of SE 27th St., and found them to be in possession of an illegal substance suspected to be methamphetamine. They were arrested, transported to MIPD, processed and released.

Jan. 13

FRAUD: A victim in the 9000 block of E. Shorewood Drive was notified of fraudulent activity connected with a T-Mobile account at 10:52 a.m.

FOUND PROPERTY: An empty backpack and a Tumi suitcase containing clothes and personal items were found at 11:54 a.m. in the 8400 block of SE 68th St.

PROWLING: A car was reported prowled at 1:39 p.m. in the 2400 block of 76th Ave. SE.

MORE PROWLING: A vehicle was reported prowled at 3 p.m. in the 8400 block of SE 26th St. The rear driver’s side window was smashed, and a bag containing books, art supplies and a jacket was stolen, for a loss of $155.

Jan. 14

DUI: A driver was traveling southbound on West Mercer Way when he lost control of his vehicle and hit a utility pole, causing the vehicle to crash into several trees and go over an embankment. The driver was extricated by MIFD, and processed for DUI because he had watery eyes and an odor of intoxicants on his breath, police said.

BURGLARY: An unsecured garage was entered and a bicycle was stolen, for a loss of $2,500, at 11:12 a.m. in the 4600 block of 91st Ave. SE.

ANIMAL COMPLAINTS: A man said he was bitten by a neighbor’s dog at 3 p.m. in the 8800 block of SE 37th St. He took himself to urgent care, and a doctor told him to report it to MIPD.
