Schools likely in session Monday

Published 7:33 pm Sunday, October 26, 2014

Following Saturday night’s wind storm that left thousands without power, the Mercer Island School District has been in contact with Puget Sound Energy obtaining updates on power restoration at the school sites.

The school district posted on its website that both Mercer Island High School and Crest have power, and PSE has dispatched crews to work on the remainder of the schools. While PSE can’t predict the timeline for restoration, their crews will be working through the night and updating the district as they make progress.

MISD public information officer Randy Bolerjack said it was likely school would be in session Monday, though he didn’t rule out a delayed start. The district will officially determine school operations by Monday morning at 6 a.m.
